Power flushing is a cleaning procedure to remove sludge from the inside of the pipes and radiators that make up your central heating system. If your central heating isn’t working properly, it may be congested with sludge or corroded – in which case a Power Flush can help.
Symptoms that can indicate the need for a Power Flush:
- ! Cold spots at the bottom of radiators, or radiators that won’t get warm (even when the inlet pipe is hot)
- ! Long lag between heating going on and radiators warming up / some radiators not warming up properly
- ! Strange noises from the boiler, radiators, pipes or pump
- ! Discolouration of water in heating system when you bleed the radiators
- ! Radiators prone to small leaks
- ! Bleeding a radiator doesn’t produce any water
- ! Boiler shuts down for no obvious reason
